Introducing the SPIRITED GARDEN.
Since 1968
Spirited Garden is a premier luxury tourist destination that seamlessly blends refined beauty with garden philosophy, serving as a world-class garden that embodies the ideals of education and culture. In addition to its unique gardens, Spirited Garden offers a variety of wellness experience programs and upscale lunch and dinner services for MICE events. By integrating wellness and rural tourism with the MICE industry under the themes of peace and happiness,
Spirited Garden enhances the value of tourism in Jeju and Korea, particularly by promoting international tourism.
It also leverages diverse support programs from the Korea Rural Community Corporation, the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Jeju Convention Bureau, benefiting both domestic and international tour groups and MICE organizations.
Selected as the only garden and botanical garden destination among the “MICE Incentive Group Support Agreement Tourist Sites (2025–2026),” jointly designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.
Spirited Garden stimulates the soul, encourages self-reflection, refines thoughts, and helps find inner peace.
Since 1968, Spirited Garden has been meticulously developed by farmer Sung Bum-yeong, who transformed barren land in Jeoji-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju, into a 43,000㎡ estate with eight distinct gardens. The garden features traditional Korean trees, bonsai, unusual stones, and viewing stones, all arranged across the Grass Square and volcanic peaks. Massive hand-crafted volcanic stones, stone walls, and a stone gate, along with cascading waterfalls and ponds, harmonize with natural stone structures, showcasing the unique beauty of Korean gardens and reflecting Jeju’s natural elegance.

"I have visited gardens recorded in world garden history, but I truly believe this is the finest among them. I cannot help but be in awe."Kim Moon-chul, a specialist in urban greenery, dedicated 35 years as a public official in Seoul, overseeing the creation and management of parks and green spaces. He retired from public service and visited Spirited Garden for the first time on May 5, 2022 (Children’s Day). "As someone who has worked professionally in greenery management, visiting gardens in Germany, France, and the UK, I have never seen a place that surpasses Spirited Garden. Its dignity and beauty left me with an overwhelming desire to stay." "I deeply respect Mr. Sung Bum-young, the creator of this garden, and sincerely pray for his health. I also earnestly hope that dedicated experts and successors who love this garden as much as he does will continue to preserve and nurture it. May Spirited Garden be recognized as a World Cultural Heritage site and remain an eternal landmark that everyone dreams of visiting at least once in their lifetime. I wholeheartedly pray to God, the Creator of all things, that this garden becomes not only Korea’s pride but also the greatest garden in the world." | ![]() Kim Moon-chul, Former Director of the Greenery Division, Seoul Metropolitan Government (May 5, 2022) |
